Did You Know: Sales Price and Urgency

  • The typical home seller sold their home for 96 percent of the listed selling price.
  • One quarter of all recent home sellers received at least their listing price or more.
  • Seventeen percent of all recent home sellers received less than 90 percent of their listed price.
  • The urgency of the home sale did influence the percent of the listing price that home sellers received. Thirty percent of those who did not need to sell their home urgently received at least or more than their listing price compared to 24 percent of those who needed to sell their home very urgently.
  • Only one in ten recent home sellers who needed to sell their home not urgently sold their home for less than 90 percent of the selling price compared to one in five sellers who needed to sell their home very or somewhat urgently.
